Centuries ago (pre-Christmas) Scandinavian people believed house gnomes guarded their homes against evil.
If you were good the gnomes were good to you but if you were bad they would play tricks on you like sitting on your head while you sleep to give you nightmares.
Later on their significance in history changed and in 1800's they were known as helpers of Father Christmas (Elves!)
After all these years gnomes continue to be a cheerful addition to any home during the holidays...
My gnomes are hand formed out of speckled stoneware clay and their hats are finished with satin white glaze and their big noses and bodies are left unglazed in the natural colour of the clay.
*The photographs are accurate representations of the design but each piece is handmade without use of any moulds so slight variations may occur and the piece you receive will be unique and one of a kind.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING- yes, I ship to most countries. If you don't see the shipping option for your country, please message me your address and the pieces you are interested in for a shipping quote.
Custom and personalized orders
I love working on custom orders because I know what I create will be very special to you.
Custom orders take longer to ship than the items that are already made as ceramics need to be made , dried (drying period varies depending on the size of the piece), fired once to bisque and than fired again to glaze, therefore they can take upto 6-7 weeks to ship but I promise you it will be worth the wait š when you buy a custom piece you will be the only one in the entire world that has one...
Can I ask for customization of an existing design I see in the shop?
Yes of course , send me a convo about what you would like to be done ( you can pick your clay color, add draining holes to planters etc.) I will try my best to meet your needs.
Not everything I see in your Instagram account is listed in the shop , can I order a design I see in your Instagram account?
Of course , anything on @ceramicsense on IG can be recreated for you. Send me a message about it.
Can I receive my order earlier than the regular processing period?
Regular processing time for made to order items is 4-6 weeks but if you would like me to rush your order I can include your piece in the next kiln fire (The kiln is fired every 10 days). If you wish me to rush your order please consider purchasing an order upgrade.
Packages returned to CeramicSense
If your item is returned to sender (CeramicSense) due to errors in the address provided by the buyer, unclaimed packages at local mail office etc. I will message you on Etsy to inform you your package came back to me and if you wish your item to be resent you will be charged for additional shipping costs.

I am revising my first review of 1 star to 5 stars. I absolutely love the gnome. Itās just as described and the beard is completely unique. After communicating with the owner she made one quickly for me and shipping was decently quick for these times. She even sent a couple ceramic houses which is very sweet of her. Thank you for working with me.

Iād love to say itās beautiful but Iāve never received it. After dropping the first one and then not shipping the second one a week later like she said itās been a hassle to get this. Thatās all I want is a large gnome. Now itās lost in the mail and the owner refunded me my money instead of Shipping another one! Iām extremely frustrated as this process has taken 6 weeks. I still want the gnome. In a timely manner.
